You see this dog right here? His name is Justice and I got him when he was about 5 weeks old. I remember when my brother first walked in with something wrapped up in a yellow sweater, and I ran to him jumping up and down trying to take a peek into the yellow sweater. My dad walked up to him and asked what was in the sweater; as soon as he revealed the big surprise i grabbed the puppy out of his arms and immediately asked “what will we name him?!” I put the puppy on the floor so he could get familiar with his new home (not even caring if my parents had agreed to keep him or not). At the time, I had two cats and they both came out to meet this new member of the family. Surprisingly, they were friendly and nurturing with him. Caught up in all the excitement, we lost sight of the puppy and before we knew it he couldn’t be found anywhere in the living room. I came to my room to see if he could’ve been hiding somewhere and as I looked under my computer desk there he was curled up in a little ball sleeping. Before I knew it, we were getting the dog license and his vaccines.
Hes always been a ball of energy ever since we got him. He’s like my personal version of Marley (the movie Marley & Me), just not as terrible. I still remember him running up and down the apartment, as a puppy, sliding on his paws causing him to the crash into walls since he didn’t know how to stop, or being a bully to the cats by walking up and sitting on them while they were sleeping. My favorite is when he would do something wrong while we were out of the house and the second we’d walk in that door he’d run to the room and crawl his way under the bed (which later he got too big and fat to even fit so he’d get stuck midway). *Sighs* Too many memories with this dog. Unfortunately as he and I both grew older, I lost touch as to how much this dog really means to me. I wouldn’t show him too much attention and when I would stay home I’d just lock myself in my room. I was too caught up in my own little world to even bother being affectionate with my dog.
Its been 12 years now, growing up with this dog has taught me many things. The beauty about a dog is that they don’t hold grudges; no matter how much I’d scold him or even if I didn’t show him enough time, he always has time to cheer me up whenever I’m upset. He’ll come up to me, lick my face, and look at me with those cute brown puppy eyes of his as if they just want to ask “are you okay?” or “cheer up”.
Ugh why does age always come with a price? Finding out that you might have cancer just makes me cringe. You’ve always been so strong, all I’m asking is for you to keep being that strong dog I’ve always loved (even if I didn’t always show it). You still have to wait until I get married so I could bring you to live with me, after all you are my dog. I don’t care if you’re throwing farts and stinking up the whole place. I’m praying that this is just a little virus which medicine could take care of because I’m not ready to say goodbye or see you hurt.

“A dog doesn’t care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he’ll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?”

So like… mriverzzzz: there’s a mute/deaf man in my building, and he never utters a word, he just tries to communicate through sign language. But lately he’s always with this woman who’s constantly giggling, and I hear him trying to make sounds, so I look through the peephole of my door to see who’s making the noise, and he’s touching her butt as they go up the stairs!!! Geez… OMG! HAHAHA.
